Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.Psalms 139:23-24
The Psalm of David opens our knowledge of the largeness and glory of God. It provides us with a look inside His omniscience, His omnipotence and His omnipresence.
God Knows Us
It tells us that God knows every viewpoint of our lives and is involved in the tiniest detail of our being.
As we read through, we come to an understanding that He is all-knowing and perfect in wisdom. He knows all our ways and understands our deepest thoughts and innermost being.
God Is There For Us
We start to become aware that He is our ever-living help, and that no matter where we are or where we go, His presence is there to lead and guide, and His righteous right hand is sufficient to uphold and sustain us; protect and defend us; comfort and equip us – heal and help us.
Let us come to God
David cried out for God to search his heart and prove the depth of his love for his Lord. He knew that God alone could bring calm to his distressed soul and knew that any ungodly thoughts are seen in clear view by the Lord.
I pray that God would search our hearts too and expose anything that is clouding our Christian walk that limiting our relationship with Jesus. May He cleansed us from our sins, purify our hearts, comfort any anxious thoughts and draw us into closer fellowship God.
